Rotor Kit Vibration Dataset Download
Overview
This dataset contains 3-axis vibration data collected for validation of vibration analysis and fault diagnosis algorithms for rotating machinery. It was used in the evaluation experiments presented in the paper "Empirical Investigation of the Impact of Phase Information on Fault Diagnosis of Rotating Machinery".
Experimental Setup and Measurement Conditions
Data was collected using a controlled rotating test machine (rotor kit) and a high-precision 3-axis quartz vibration sensor.
- Apparatus: Shinkawa Electric rotor kit (AA31-020)
- Sensor: Seiko Epson 3-axis digital quartz vibration sensor (M-A342)
- Mounting Position: Upper bearing housing
- Coordinate System:
- X-axis: Lateral direction
- Y-axis: Axial direction
- Z-axis: Vertical direction
- Rotation Speed:1200 RPM (fundamental frequency 20 Hz)
- Sampling Frequency:3 kHz
- Sensor Characteristics:Flat frequency response in the 10-1000 Hz band, with inter-axis synchronization accuracy better than 10 µs.
Dataset Structure
The data consists of 6 classes total: 1 normal condition class and 5 abnormal condition classes simulating unbalance using washers.
Files are provided in CSV format
CSV Format
Each CSV file contains time-series data for 3 channels.
- Column Structure: X-axis, Y-axis, Z-axis
- Units: mm/s (velocity)
Class Definitions
The following conditions are simulated by combinations of washers (thick/thin) mounted at two shaft positions (left/right). Labels are used in filenames, etc.
| Class | Label | Conditions | Left Position |
Right Position |
Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Class 0 | A_D | Normal | - | - | Normal (no washers) |
| Class 1 | AW_D | Anomaly | Thick | - | Thick washer on left side |
| Class 2 | A_DW | Anomaly | - | Thick | Thick washer on right side |
| Class 3 | Avv_D | Anomaly | Thin | - | Thin washer on left side |
| Class 4 | A_Dvv | Anomaly | - | Thin | Thin washer on right side |
| Class 5 | Avv_Dvv | Anomaly | Thin | Thin | Thin washers on both sides |
- Number of Files:96 files total (16 files × 6 classes)

1. Trimmed Data
Data with unstable behavior immediately after measurement start removed, matching the experimental conditions in the paper.
- Data Length:Approximately 270,000 points per file (approximately 90 seconds)
- Processing:The first 30,000 points (10 seconds) from measurement start are removed, extracting the subsequent stable region
- Download Trimmed Data (zip, 435MB)
2. Original Raw Data
Raw vibration data as measured. Includes transient response immediately after sensor startup.
- Data Length: Approximately 300,000 points per file (approximately 100 seconds)
- Content: All data from measurement start to end
- Download Original Raw Data (zip, 481MB)
